Safari Park (Urdu: سفاری باغ) is located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Safari Park has a zoo, children's playland and a large number of gardens. It is one of the major recreation and amusement areas in Karachi.
Karachi Safari Park is situated at Main University Road, extending in an area of 300 acres (1.2 km2) land, inaugurated in 1970 by Lieutenant General Atiq-ur-Rehman. It was an independent project of the then Karachi Municipal Corporation, following with creation of independent department of Zoo, Safari and Aquarium in 1995.
Karachi Safari Park is now declared as an independent wing of Community Development Department of City District Government of Karachi. Now this has been designated as a Family Park.
There is an adventure park called as Go aish adventure park [1] also running in Safari Park, another amusement section Aladin Park is also a part of Safari Park.
Safari Park also has the distinction of being the only project/park in the Sindh province to have a proper Chairlift. The Chairlift project was setup at a cost of USD 2 Million and was inaugurated by the Karachi City Nazim Mustafa Kamal on 8 March 2006. The thrilling 10 minute ride crosses a manmade lake and provides scenic views of the city as well as various animal and bird life.
